This unique men's ring features a free form fire agate cabachon, set in sterling silver, and a wide, thick sterling band. I completed this ring in entirety from raw materials. The stone was cut from an old stock collection of fire agate rough from decades past. The setting was created from 18 gauge sterling sheet, hand sawed to fit the shape of the stone, and filed along the edges to create a rugged texture. The band was also created from flat sterling silver sheet. Wire was shaped, hammered, and soldered onto the edges of the band. Details were stamped into the wire and the band itself, and recycled sterling scrap & dust was fused onto the surface, creating a seemingly random, rough texture. The ring lies on US size 12 on a ring mandrel, however due to the wide and thick nature of the band, it will fit a bit more snug, and those with longer fingers will find the ring to be more comfortable.

A note for the buyer: Like most of my work, this jewelry evokes a sense of earthly imperfections. The stone has been left with these qualities to show the beauty that nature can create. The pitting on the cabochon is a natural formation within the stone, and I do not personally find this to be a flaw, although others may not agree. It was polished to a glossy yet natural finish. The silver work was made to match this idea. This jewelry matches the style of most of my work...Very rustic and artistic... You will know it was made by a real person, not a machine. This type of jewelry is not meant for those who prefer perfect manufacturing. Caring for your jewelry: Silver naturally tarnishes, and the color can depend on the chemical reaction due to your body chemistry and the metal. Silver can be polished with a polishing cloth or wheel.
