A Montana moss agate that was cut, shaped, and polished right in my studio, and a setting was creating from simple raw materials. This stunning stone features translucent qualities, with tube inclusions reaching towards the surface. A sterling silver bezel has been soldered to a textured nugold jeweler's brass back plate. The bail features a floral pattern to add some intricacies to the piece. The oxidized cable chain has been adorned with labradorite gems. Chain length is 19". 1 7/8" long X 1 1/4" wide.
Like most of my work, this necklace evokes a sense of earthly imperfections. The stone has been left with these qualities to show the beauty that nature can create. There are two places on the surface of the stone that have left "pits," simply because the tubular inclusions of the stone are hollow. The silver work was made to match this idea. The necklace matches the style of most of my work...Very rustic and artistic...and you can always tell when something is made by human hands, not a machine.
